Oakley Bike Fest 2014
This weekend the Bike Stop team were at the Oakley Bike Fest 2014, and what a wonderful weekend – it was a quintessentially British summer’s day, with everyone gathered on the green of the Oakley Sports & Social Club in Bedfordshire.
Martin (Bike Stop) met Phil Randal, of Oakley Motorcycle Club (OMC), over a year ago and Bike Stop have been proudly partnered with the club ever since. Naturally, we were excited when we heard about the plans for OMC’s first motorcycle festival. Not content to just donate to the event, we rounded up a modest selection of our wares to display, loaded up with a gazebo and a table and headed over bright and early to show our support.
To say we were impressed would be a grave understatement; the OMC put together something really special and we hope that this will become a regular affair. There were so many stalls to whet the appetite, a truly great turnout from businesses and enthusiasts alike – and all the proceeds went to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which is fantastic. The Club ran a charity raffle and also provided a live band, on what we think is the first inflatable stage we’ve ever seen!
It was fantastic to meet everyone who came and said hello on the day, we hope you found it as rewarding as we did, we do love to see new faces. (We couldn’t believe some people didn’t know how close we are!) Those of you who did swing by will know we ran our own prize draw so, drum roll please…

All in all it was brilliant day, not least because we got to meet BSB (among other things) Champion Steve Plater. We hope that the next time Oakley Motorcycle Club run an event you will come along too, you won’t regret it and it all goes to a great cause.
