The Dainese Hard Shorts were designed to be worn under casual attire, Aramid Jeans or some off road gear. They provide impact protection in the key areas, whilst the mesh of the shorts keep you well ventilated. The perforated plates are Astronmemory and polypropylene, along with soft protectors that are certified to Standard EN 1621.1/97 at the sides. Elasticated inserts in silicone rubber on the thighs keep them extremely comfortable - you'll barely notice you're wearing them until it counts.
