There is an extended inside and outside plate that guards the side and toe-box area of the boot, with a calf plate designed for maximum grip, support and side contact. Shock absorbing ankle padding protects the ankle from high impact. There is also an internal plastic reinforcement on the inner side of the boot, covered by thick stamped suede for increased grip and heat resistance. The instead flex-zone is stitched for maximum support too, giving great flexibility and protection. The boots have four buckles with memory featuring a quick release/locking system. The buckles are high impact resistant, made from injected techno-polymer. The top of the boot is also sealed with Velcro and stretch PVC coated fabric.
