How to Measure
To find the right helmet size, measure all the way round your head at the widest point. Keep the tape measure above your ears and make sure that the tape measure is not too tight, nor too loose. Take your measurement in centimeters (cm), not inches.
Checking for Best Fit
When a new helmet is first worn, it should actually be slightly tight, with the interior coming into contact with most of the head, but not so restrictive that it causes any pain. There should be no "hot spots" - places where the helmet's interior puts pressure on specific points of the skull or face - but it should not move around freely. With time, a helmet will adjust to match the shape of the rider's head as it is worn and goes through "break-in" and loosens up a little. However, it should never become loose enough to easily turn from side to side.
Put the helmet on - it should be a little tight as it goes on over the head
The helmet should sit on the head evenly with the eye port's upper edge sitting just above the eyebrows and have good peripheral vision available to see side-to-side
Try putting a finger between the helmet interior and the head. If it easily fits, a smaller size should be tried next. Note that some helmet models allow for the cheek pads to be changed out for better fitment, so consider this too when checking for proper sizing
Arai’s RX-7V EVO is a culmination of decades of experience and motorcycle racing R&D at the very highest level. Handmade in Japan, it is Arai’s state of-the-art helmet in terms of protection, ventilation, comfort and fit, made with a priority for protection.
The RX-7V FIM Racing #2 is the world’s first helmet homologated to the FIM FRHPhe-02 standard, and the go-to helmet when racing in FIM sanctioned events. While the new FIM FRHPhe-02 becomes mandatory from 2026, our decades long priority for protection has resulted in having our flagship model already homologated to both FIM FRHPhe-02 and ECE R22-06 standards.
Relative to the standards previously referred to, the FRHPhe-02 standards have undergone an enhanced and more complete evaluation of their performance, in addition to being previously certified as compliant with an international standard (with impacts randomly in 9 to 13 out of 22 pre-established locations distributed over the helmet surface). This includes new threshold requirements and new impacts and tests, such as new impact tests against oblique anvils, impact tests against hemispherical anvils (to measure rotational solicitations generated in impacts), a quick-removal cheek pad test, and the introduction of a Skull Fracture Criterion (SFC).
Head protection means managing impact energy. Many understand it to be about absorbing energy, but that’s just part of it. The less impact energy that gets into the helmet, the less needs to be absorbed. Arai does that by making rounder, smoother and stronger outer shells to improve ‘Glancing Off’ performance and reduce impact energy transferring into the helmet.
Constructed from Arai’s PB-SNC2 shell to provide ultimate strength and integrity, the RX-7V FIM Racing #2 features MotoGP-spec ventilation and aerodynamics. The fit is fully customisable. Available in plain White —and in Arai’s complete size range—the RX-7V FIM Racing #2 comes with a VAS-V Clear 3D visor as standard. The DF-X2 clear spoiler is also included in the box.
