Top 10 Most Expensive Bikes 2018

I am sure we have all noticed over the years motorcycles have got much more expensive and have transformed from cheap fun to a relative luxury for most now. For those looking for the top of the top end in motorcycle style and performance, what is the most expensive and sought after bike? This week we will look at the 10 most expensive motorcycles in production now!

10 - £22,796 Energica Ego

If you are in the market for a largely unproven Italian electric sports bike, look no further than the Energica Ego. Its motor produces 145 BHP and thats enough to propel the Energica EGO to 0-60 in 3 seconds and to a top speed of 150 mph. The battery is a 11.7 kw lithium polymer unit and recharges to 85% charge in 30 minutes and 3.5 hours to 100%.

9 - £24,599 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing

Need a 6 cylinder motorcycle? You don't have many options, the Honda Gold Wing is one of the few. Its probably bigger than my car, the engine certainly is, but if you need to cover long distances in comfort with a passenger on wide open roads, what else would you pick?

8 - £30,486 Lightning LS-218

Another electric bike in the line up, the technology is new hence the asking price! This one however comes with lots of power, 200 bhp to be exact and a 218 mph top speed. Fast enough for a commute on the autobahn then. You can pick between 12 kwh, 15 kwh and 20 kwh battery packs, providing 100-120, 120-150 and 160-180 mile ranges retrospectively.

7 - £33,995 Harley Davidson CVO™ LIMITED

If you want a long range touring bike but think the Honda Gold Wing has too many cylinders and too little chrome, this bike might be for you. Why is it £33,995? Honestly I couldn't tell you, the customers who are into these sorts of bikes will more than likely love it though.

6 - £34,995 Panigale V4 Speciale

Ducati superbikes have been getting dramatically more expensive with each new release, however this is one of the most powerful and technologically advanced superbikes on sale. It will beat everything short of a Kawasaki Ninja H2 in a straight line and reward you with a V4 soundtrack gods would admire.

5 - £47,000 Kawasaki Ninja H2R

The Kawasaki Nina H2R is basically the upgraded track only version of the Ninja H2. This means more power from the supercharged inline 4 engine... A lot more power, over 300 bhp in fact. The Ninja H2R has become famous through many videos of it destroying multiple million pound cars on the drag strip. Got £47,000? Seems like good value considering you get hyper car performance.

4 - £52,999 Brough Superior SS100

Not many people know about this motorcycle and the only thing you may be thinking is its not cheap. No it isn't. Its a hand built motorcycle targeting the luxury motorcycle market. Its designed to look like the original 1924 SS100 model, but with modern touches. Again this one is for the chrome lovers out there!

3 - £57,838 MV Agusta F4 LH 44

MV Agusta love their Lewis Hamilton specials, this is another one of them. Personally I think its one of the most eye catching motorcycles I have ever seen. You are not just paying for the looks though, the engine packs a punch, 212 bhp. More than enough power for a bike that holds license plates. Every new bike needs a new exhaust right? This one doesn't, it comes from factory with a gorgeous titanium SC-Project silencer.

2 - £59,994 Ariel Ace R

Everyone knows the Ariel Atom by now, but they make motorcycles too. This is their latest creation. It uses a Honda VFR 1200 V4 engine tuned to produce 201 bhp. Everything is about the attention to detail on this bike, the frame is even machined from one solid piece of aluminium! The only downside is the price, its a bit steep starting at nearly £60,000. I say starting as nearly everything is pretty much customisable on the Ace R which will no doubt push the price up.

1 - £68,000 BMW HP4 Race

The BMW HP4 probably has to be one of the most advanced motorcycles on sale at the moment. BMW have basically produced a fully fledged race spec superbike that you can go out and buy, as long as you have £68,000 spare and further funds set aside for engine rebuilds every 5000km! This is however not a road bike, it's a track only special so it should last you a fair few track days.
