Motorcycle clothing manufacturers are now aware that women who ride motorbikes want choice in the protective clothing we wear when riding and not only do we want choice but we also want it to be stylish and affordable. Can this be achieved?
Well yes, I think it can. When looking for a pair of trousers I think about what it is I want from them:
* knee and/or hip protection – the purpose of armour is to absorb the shock of impact and prevent abrasion injury and should stay in place when you are moving. To prevent bursting you should make sure the trousers have doubled seams;
* pockets – I am not too fussed about pockets on trousers because I use the pockets in my jacket for my lippy, phone etc. but on a hot day when you have left your jacket with your bike and are wondering about, a pocket or two would be useful;
* zip at the bottom of the leg to make it easier to get the trousers on and off – let’s face it, we’ve all been there hopping around the room on one leg trying to get your other leg into the trousers, ending up either falling against the wall or in a heap on the floor!;
* zip connector - to be able to zip the trousers to a jacket.
Which ones will give me the protection I need whilst offering me comfort, style and value for money.
