Bike Stop Open Weekend

Bike Stop Open Weekend

This coming weekend (10th & 11th March) Bike Stop's first major event of the year is happening - the Bike Stop Open Weekend combined with the Spidi Tour.

There are a good few things going on over the weekend, more than you may expect from a relatively modestly sized shop!

The headline event is the Spidi Tour - an event that's huge in Italy and other locations in Europe, but has yet to make footfall in the UK, that is until now! It takes the form of a rideout taking in lovely roads around Hertfordshire and a free hi-viz vest, t-shirt and food voucher. Sadly it's fully booked already, but there is a chance there will be people who don't turn up so spaces could become available for at least the rideout.

Something all bikers will be interested in is the prize draw - now with a pot of £1000. The top prize is a Ron Haslam Race School trackday for 2 people, so you can take anyone else you want along with you, and this is worth £600, so well worth a punt! This prize is only available to those who go the event in person, while the second prize, a £250 Bike Stop voucher, will be available to those who enter online by simply liking the posts on Instagram, sharing on Facebook and retweeting on Twitter. The third prize is yet to be confirmed and will also be announced this week via Bike Stop's social media. The prize draw will be broadcasted on Facebook Live, so if you've entered and can't make it then it'll be well worth a watch.

Bike Stop has partnered with Norton Way Honda from Letchworth Garden City, who'll be providing Honda test rides all weekend. You'll be able to try their latest models and check out Bike Stop's fantastic gear selection without having to go beyond our shop. Ideally you can book and guarantee your test ride ahead of time using this form.

This weekend will also mark the expansion of our Spidi range (hence the Spidi Tour part) and introduction of the Swedish brand Halvarssons - a producer of very high quality gear that can cope with a wide range of weather conditions (highly desirable given the past week's apocalyptic weather!)

On both Saturday and Sunday there'll be a special breakfast menu of fresh sausage and bacon baps, plus burgers server later on, so if some of the extra events aren't quite for you (looking at you, long-suffering other halves!) at least your hunger will be satisfied! It's also worthy of mention that the first Sunday of every month will be the Bike Stop rideout events, and the special breakfast menu will be available then too, so keep an eye on our social media and the events section of our website.

Shoei will be present this weekend and can service your helmet to keep it in tip top condition - this'll range from a simple clean, to checking the visor and maintaining seals with silicone grease. Well worth checking out if you wear a Shoei helmet and want it to protect your noggin, keep water out and want to blind people with its shininess.

On the helmet theme, our new partner company Xpel will be present all weekend showing their helmet wrapping services. You may not have heard of this, and it's not a simple case of encasing a helmet in wrapping paper to gift to someone - instead it's the same process as found on cars and motorbikes to protect the painted surface from damage. They may not be able to do the wrapping on the weekend, but they'll also have examples of their work, and you can book your helmet in if you so wish.

ACS Custom will be at Bike Stop on Saturday morning to provide ear plug moulding - ideally it'll be by appointment so if you want it doing, this is probably the most convenient way to do it if you're nearby. Moulded earplugs are far and away the most comfortable and effective hearing protection solution available, but you need a professional to do it for you. There may be the opportunity to have a walk-in moulding, but it's on a purely first come, first served basis outside the appointments already made. Prices start at £79 for simple blocks, but filtered and speak options are available.

Even if you can't come this weekend, we'd love for you to stop by and answer your bike gear questions. Bike Stop has a large range of motorcycle gear, both online and in the shop in Stevenage. Like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, subscribe to our mailing list to keep up to date on events happening at Bike Stop throughout the year,  drop by to have a chat, have a delicious Lavazza coffee and a cake, or view our large motorcycle gear range.
