Bike Stop's Latest Casual Biker Kit

Perhaps you’re riding the bike less these days or simply love bikes so much you want to wear clothes that proclaim that off the bike too. Better still, maybe you want some gear that belongs on the bike as much as on it! Let’s check out some of the latest casual kit.

With the warming temperatures a hoodie might be a bit much for riding or other times, so maybe a t-shirt will help you show your love of motorcycles. Like hoodies, we stock a load of these too, with examples from Dainese, Alpinestars, Rukka and Belstaff, as well as the best one of all, Bike Stop! Check out our range of t-shirts here; ideal as a loose base layer or for wearing out and about.

Motorcycle Kevlar Jeans

For those looking for something that suits both on and off the bike and packing proper protection then of course the Kevlar jean is the ideal candidate. The market for these has exploded in the past few years, with many brands getting in on the act and massive advances in protection, comfort and style. A while ago you’d have exposed Kevlar liners rubbing up against your legs inside heavy denim, whereas it’s easy nowadays to get jeans that integrate the inner and outer into a single, comfortable layer.

Packing everything a Kevlar jean aspires to be, the Rokker Revolution is a proper bit of kit – it includes armour at the hips and knees, a single layer denim-aramid fibre construction, and the holy grail of full waterproofing. The catch? They don’t come cheap, checking in at £349.99, however these trousers are potentially the answer to needing a pair of jeans of sunny days, and textiles for rainy ones. Worth the price of admission for sure, but if you’re on a strict budget there are other options available.

A step under the Rokkers, and making do without waterproofing, Resurgence sits in the mid-range of jeans, but packs all the safety tech you need. Their CE Café Racer jeans have D3O armour at the hips and knees, while 60% Pekev coverage hidden behind a comfortable, wicking mesh liner create a recipe for a stylish and comfortable, yet safe package.

If you’re on a really strict budget then maybe the PMJ New Rider jeans might suit you. Packing Twaron ballistic material for its abrasion protection liner, behind a mesh liner as well as Zero-Shock knee protectors (and space for hip ones) this is a solid protective option, and at less than half the cost of the Rokker Revolution this could be just the ticket if you’re on a budget.

Casual Style Motorcycle Boots

You’ve got the jeans, but what about the boots? You can of course wear any motorcycle boots, but what if you want something more subtle than a boot built for racing, and more casual than a chunky combat-style boot, then the new wave of casual boots could be right up your street.

A variety of styles are available nowadays, with many brands getting in on the act. Rev’It have several, including the Delta H2O which apes a standard trainer but packs waterproofing and proper protection. It’s not built for the track, but for road use it’s ideal and will be much more comfortable than a squeaky, stiff race boot.  Don't need waterproof then also don't miss the Astro shoe

Maybe you’re into the latest fashions, or simply want to make a statement – Rev’It have recently released the Astro boot, which lines up nicely with the latest trainer trends of a chunky sole and bold, funky colours. A toe, ankle and heel cap keep things solid, while mesh construction will keep your feet cool during the summer months.

Classic Biker Gear

For those who aren’t fans of the latest trends, Belstaff are probably right up your street. Their use of traditional materials and styles, backed up with modern protection make them ideal for retro-style bikes. With a wide range of jackets on offer you’re spoilt for choice, but what you might not know is they even have a jacket that can fit into the jackets but can also be worn off the bike without the jacket - here the"Long Way Up" Down Jacket.
