SB BRITISH SUPERBIKES - ROUND 3

DONINGTON

PARK 24th - 26th MAY

Another bank holiday weekend and another BSB weekend. The last meeting at Oulton Park was dominated by Josh Brookes which I found surprising bearing in mind Ducati is one of the new bikes on the grid. I thought it was going to take at least four race meetings before Bewiser could iron out all the issues, but they turned it around in a couple of weeks - this could be ominous for rest of the field

t

I know I

predicted Josh to be the 2019 Champion but I didn’t expect him to have two race

wins under his belt by round three, especially after what happened at

Silverstone with two DNFs.

Josh

Brookes has to be one of the favourites, that’s a no brainer. He’s flying high

from Oulton Park and knows that he’s in what is probably the best team.

Scott

Redding is doing pretty well so far and I don’t expect him to come on strong

until the showdown, which I expect him to make.

Tarran

Mackenzie didn’t have the best Oulton Park as he was struggling with the bike

setup all weekend but I think he’ll be fighting for the win at Donington.

Jason

O’halloran still didn’t get any luck at Oulton but Donington should be a

different story and I hope it is because we haven’t seen how good he is yet.

Josh

Elliot is everyone’s favourite underdog at the moment, he seems to be getting

the best out of a bike that shouldn’t really be up there on paper. Josh is

never one for excuses - he just ignores everyone and gets on with racing!

Seeing

Danny Buchan back on the podium was a welcome sight. He’s another great young

rider that has proven his quality in every class. I expect to see him near the

front quite a lot this season.

Tommy

Bridewell was amazing at Oulton but couldn’t make a move on the inch

perfect Josh Brookes. Tommy seems to love the Ducati and we’ve seen it in the

past, if you give Tommy a bike he likes he’s incredibly fast and can win, and

I’d like to see him on the top step again.

So will

there be any surprises at Donington? Probably, and that’s what makes BSB

British Superbikes so great to watch!
