BRANDS HATCH GP - JUNE 14th - 16th
Brands Hatch will always be my favourite British racetrack! When the sun comes out, there’s nowhere better to watch motorcycle racing - especially when they use the Grand Prix Circuit.
Coming into this weekend Scott Redding is leading the championship by 6 points from Tommy Bridewell after his amazing triple win at Donington. It just goes to show if Scott is familiar with a track, he’s almost unbeatable in this class. Thankfully for the rest of the field Scott doesn’t really know the quirkier tracks like Cadwell and Knockhill. The trouble is this weekend is Brands Hatch GP and I’ve got a feeling Scott is going to do well on the Grand Prix Circuit.
Josh Brookes was looking great until his awful highside in the first race at Donington, he was incredibly lucky to walk away in one piece but never fully recovered his confidence for the next two races. Brands Hatch should be a different story as Josh will want to make a statement and put his teammate in his place!
Tarran Mackenzie has kept up his challenge and is only 7 points behind Scott Redding. Tarran is also very fast at Brands so this weekend is building up nicely.
Jason O’Halloran is having another nightmare season through no fault of his own and he must be starting to question what he’s done to deserve this again. Hopefully Brands will be kind.
Tommy Bridewell was a revelation at Donington and seems to love the Ducati. Can he go one better at Brands? I don’t think he’ll be quite there, but it is Tommy and he’s good around Brands Hatch so you never know.
It’s hard to pick a winner this weekend but I think Josh Brookes is the one with the point to prove so my money’s on him!
