BSB BRITISH SUPERBIKES - ROUND 7

THRUXTON - 2nd - 4th AUGUST

Soon to be renamed the Scott Redding show!

Scott is looking untouchable and I can’t see anyone who really looks like they can challenge him at the moment. Thruxton definitely isn’t a great track to watch live as you can’t see much of the track but it is the fastest circuit on the calendar and the riders love it.

Let’s hope Scott Redding has a few issues learning the track or has another terrible start so we get to see him fight for the win again.

Josh Brookes, who was my tip for the title, seems to be getting frustrated that he can’t get the same results out of the Ducati that Redding can and I can’t see what he can do unless Redding starts to make mistakes.

Tarran Mackenzie was looking good but mistakes are creeping in just like Bradley Ray last year. Tarran is an amazing rider but Scott Redding is starting to pull away at the front and I can see that Tarran might start to over ride to try and stay with him.

Last time out Tommy Bridewell had a bad weekend and looks like he doesn’t really believe that he can beat Scott Redding even though he’s up there. Hopefully I’m wrong and they both end up having a great Thruxton.

I’ve got a feeling Scott Redding is going to like Thruxton but it might take some time for him to adjust. Could another Scott Redding double be on the cards? I think he’ll like the speed but will find it hard keep up with the riders that know this track well.

Danny Buchan is sitting pretty to make the Showdown and I think it’s fair to say not many people predicted that. Danny has been on top form with a great team behind him but I wouldn’t be surprised if a bigger team steps in at the end of the season. I think we could easily see Danny on the podium again this weekend.

Xavi Forés might struggle at Thruxton on top speed. He might be a classy rider but I think the Ducatis should prove too strong.

Also keep an eye on Peter Hickman - the BMW is starting to look pretty quick and Peter won’t have given up on sneaking into the Showdown just yet.

Fast, scary and exciting sums up Thruxton!
