ISLE OF MAN TT 2019

RACES 1st - 7th JUNE

Last year’s TT was probably the best meeting we’ve ever seen, the conditions were perfect and we saw records broken in nearly every race. So will this year’s event live up to expectations?

Well you couldn’t ask for a stronger line up of riders as the Isle of Man always attracts the best road racers in the world, but are there going to be any surprises?

Doubtful!

Michael Dunlop didn’t seem too happy with last years TT and yet he still walked away with three wins, which just goes to show how brilliant a rider he is. I expect even with the terrible events of last year, to see him have a great 2019 meeting.

There’s no doubt Peter Hickman was the surprise of 2018 with two amazing wins that not many people saw coming but can he do it again? Well you don’t become the fastest man around the Isle of Man by accident so I would be very surprised if he wasn’t in the running again.

Dean Harrison is another great road racer that won last year in Supersport but ended up being overshadowed by Michael Dunlop and Peter Hickman. This could be Dean’s year as he keeps getting faster!

Ian Hutchinson didn’t have a great 2018 and I can’t see there being much of a change this year.

John McGuinness is fit again but I can’t see him keeping up with the younger riders this year and I can’t see him breaking Joey Dunlop’s record, if anyone one does go on to beat 26 wins I think his name will also be Dunlop.

Conor Cummins has been looking really impressive and if the local lad, did manage to win, I think the whole of the Isle of Man would celebrate and I’d love to see that.

Even though I still have mixed feelings about whether the TT should still be on bearing in mind how many riders have lost their lives or had serious injuries over the years, I have to admit I end up totally glued to my Television set as they set off.
