The MotoGP 2021 is underway and the big question on every fan’s lips is will Marc Marquez be the same rider that he was before his accident? I personally doubt that he’ll be quite the same as he’ll undoubtedly have realised that he is mortal! Having said that he’ll still be the one to beat but it might take him a couple of rounds to get up to race speed (this is Marc Marquez I’m talking about so probably not!)

Joan Mir MotoGP World Champion 2020 - well I think it’s fair to say no one saw that one coming, I for one certainly didn’t! That’s not to say he isn’t a great rider or that didn’t deserve it, he was the most consistent rider and kept his head when the other riders started making mistakes. I’m not convinced he’ll repeat it and I even think it’s going to be hard for him to beat his teammate.
Alex Rins who obviously had his nose put out of joint last season.
Alex Rins, just like his teammate, is a real talent and if he manages to stop doing a Cal and falling off to often, he’ll be in with a chance.
Maverick Viñales was amazing at the first round and in true Maverick style was a bit disappointing in race two - but could this be his year? I think his teammate might have something to say about that.
Fabio Quartararo is my tip for the title as he already looks very comfortable on the factory Yamaha. He also doesn’t seem to be overawed by the task of stepping into Valentino’s shoes (maybe it’s a year over due). Fabio has already proven that it was the right decision by winning the second race of 2021, which is something I don’t think Valentino would have done.
Jack Miller is a lot of people’s tip for title but his season hasn’t exactly got off to a flyer. Admittedly I don’t think you can read too much into that and I must admit I’d love to see Jack right up there. He’s a great character and definitely not boring to watch or listen too.
Johann Zarco is undoubtedly a great rider when he’s got confidence in his machine. After two rounds he’s found himself leading the championship without breaking sweat so let’s hope this continues and he gets on with this team as we haven’t seen the best from him in MotoGP so far!
Danilo Petrucci could be forgiven for feeling a little hard done by after his treatment from both his team and the media last year. I can’t help but feel Ducati should have stuck by him for at least another season. I’m not convinced that KTM is the right ride for Danilo and I can’t see him anywhere apart from mid pack.
Franco Morbidelli must be disappointed with his start to 2021 but it’s still only the third round and I don’t see much of a challenge coming from his teammate Valentino Rossi.
I’ve loved watching Valentino over the years but I personally wish he had retired last year. The fact is age has caught up with the GOAT and I for one don’t enjoy watching him struggle to even get out of qualifying one. This isn’t how he should be remembered and I don’t see him realistically challenging for any wins in 2021

Francesco Bagnaia is a bit like Joan Mir in that he goes under most people’s radar but again after two rounds he’s sitting comfortably in forth on 26 points
Enea Bastianini is a classy rider who looks ready to prove why he’s been moved up to the premier class.
Jorge Martin is definitely another rider to keep an eye on - he already looks like a possible future champion.
So 2021 looks set to be a great year in MotoGP and if last season is anything to go by I think it’s a fair bet we’re possibly going to see another newly crowned champion - roll on 2021!!!
