Spidi - Italian style and racing pedigree

If you’re in the market for a quality set of gear with racing pedigree and Italian flair behind it you’re spoilt for choice in the motorcycling world, with Dainese and Alpinestars being two of the hard hitters in this segment. There is a third contender who is very much worth your consideration however with a reputation as good as the aforementioned brands; Spidi (not to be confused with Sidi or Spada!)

Bike Stop stocks Spidi jackets, trousers and gloves for both the track and the road with an extensive collection of leather and textile gear ready for an adventure to the track or around the world.

Spidi’s one and two-piece suits sit at the premium end of the market – expect to pay upwards of £700 for a good one-piece from them, however now is an excellent time to take advantage of our site-wide 10% off offer that’s set to end soon, taking a good chunk off that investment while still getting an excellent suit. Naturally a good one-piece needs tailoring to fit you perfectly for the ultimate in comfort and safety, and of course we can arrange that for you.

Sitting in the middle of the one-piece pack is the Sport Warrior coming in at £710.99 (normally £789.99) which includes almost all the armour you could ask for (knee, hips, elbows and shoulders) with preparation for both chest and back protectors – if you’re taking it to the track a back protector is a worthy investment, whether it be integrated into the suit of worn separately underneath. Premium 1.2/1.3mm cowhide makes up the majority of the outer of the suit providing excellent abrasion protection alongside Schoeller Keprotec stretch panel areas for abrasion protection and better fit in non-impact areas. A removable mesh liner will help you keep the suit smelling fresh.

Maybe you want the practicality of a two-piece suit though – either you want to be able to use it more comfortably on both on the track and on the road, or you simply want to be able to go to the loo easily! Chances are you’ll be looking for something that doesn’t scream ‘sportiness’ and maybe you’ll want to have a jacket that’ll go nicely with a pair of aramid fibre jeans.

The Evorider 2 CE jacket could fit this bill nicely – including 1.1/1.3mm cowhide and protective shoulder and elbow armour with preparation for both chest and back armour this can be used on the track as well as on a Sunday cruise. Catering to more practical use this is also compatible with both thermal and H2Out liners from Spidi allowing you to take this summer jacket into the spring and autumn with ease. Coming in at £327.59 at the moment this is an ideal accompaniment to many rides.

On the leather trousers front you can go for the track-focused RR Pro 2 or the more road-focused Tekker. Both include knee and hip armour while the RR Pro 2 includes knee sliders and shin protection, while the Tekker is semi-waterproof and includes pockets, crucial when pocket space is usually at a premium with leather gear. These cost £296.99 and £327.59 at the moment with our 10% off promotion. If you feel you don’t want the full protection of leather trousers or simply prefer a bit more freedom of movement then Spidi also do motorcycle jeans, with their best in the range being the J&Dyneema, so named because of the use of the extremely abrasion resistant fibre, Dyneema. Coming in a slim fit and black in colour these could go very well with the Evorider 2 CE – at £251.99 they sit at the premium end of the motorcycle jeans segment, but for sheer protection they’re among the best. Knee and hip armour round off the package.

In the jacket department you can get something like the Solar Net H2Out jacket that’ll keep the worst of the rain at bay and keep you pretty warm towards winter while not breaking the bank (£163.79) and looking pretty decent to boot! Abrasion resistant polyester material and armour in the shoulders and elbows will keep you out of harm’s way. An ideal jacket for those looking for a basic textile jacket that ticks most of the boxes you could ever need.

Meanwhile, for those who expect to get dunked in the ocean and ride through the desert the Globetracker is the jacket for you. Including a laminated waterproof layer called Dermizax (no soggy, heavy outer layers here), a removable faux-down layer and Coolmax tech to keep you dry, warm or cool all bases are covered, while Cebonner fabric takes care of abrasion protection alongside impact protection from armour in the elbows and shoulders. A true multi-purpose jacket – of course you pay for the privilege of having such a capable jacket (£599.99 down from £749.99) but if it’ll get the use then it’ll be utterly worth it. For the bottom half there are also Globetracker trousers coming in at £494.99 at the moment – pairing the jacket and trousers together will create a bombproof layer that’ll have you riding in comfort in both the dead of winter and height of summer – for those with a sense of adventure, or a particularly nasty commute, this suit could be the one for you.
