You may remember that we mentioned raising money for Herts Air Ambulance at our ACU National Road Rally Checkpoint last week. A massive thank you to everyone who came down and donated.
There was an Air Ambulance here, behind Bike Stop, in Old Town Stevenage today (pictured below) and they do such good, important work for the community that we wanted to bring it to your attention once again.
The Herts Air Ambulance is more than just a helicopter; the entire crew are specially trained senior registrar level doctors (including the Pilot), who provide vital pre-hospital care - the speed the Air Ambulance can reach a patient is crucial in saving lives. The team then make sure the patient is taken directly to the most appropriate hospital for their needs to give them the best chance to make a full recovery.
The Air Ambulance is not run by the NHS but by the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust Charity, who provide this vital service for free. If you can make a donation, please do (linked here). You can also volunteer here - don't worry, you don't need to be a Pilot or a Doctor to help out!
Any donation, whether time or money, is greatly appreciated and a great benefit to many in your local community.
