Who doesn't love a naughty sounding bike? In this blog we will look at the top 10 best sounding bikes on sale in 2018. Of course good sound is subjective, but here are my favourites!
10 - MV Agusta F4 RC
If this competition was based on looks alone, the MV would be way up there. The F4 has an in line 4 engine, which is pretty standard in the world of super bikes and maybe not as unique sounding as some of the other bikes on this list, however as far as in line 4 engines go the MV Agusta F4 is one of the best!
9 - KTM Superduke 1290R
I might be a bit biased here as I owned one of these. Stick a mean exhaust on a Superduke and everyone in the country will know when you start the bike up. KTM created a beast when they came out with this bike and it sounds like one too!
8 - Yamaha MT 09
The MT 09 has a distinctive triple growl, it sounds less like the Triumphs of old as it doesn't really have the low speed whine, but it has the brutal angry triple tone up in the rev range. Its probably the best sounding budget bike on the list, great value for money.
7 - Triumph Street Triple RS
The Street Triple RS is a relative newcomer, Triumph added a few extra CC's to create the 765 engine, an engine which will also be used in Moto 2. Just as well it sounds really angry, again you get the top end addictive triple growl. I can see why Triumph stick with the triples.
6 - Ducati Panigale 959
The Ducati Panigale 959.. A bike that looks just as good as it sounds. The 959 is a Vtwin, but the nature of the superquadro is a high revving one. So you get the benefit of a sweet sounding Vtwin in the lower rev ranges but open it up and all hell breaks lose.
5 - Kawasaki Ninja H2R
Not road legal, but still a production motorcycle, the supercharged in line 4 engine just sounds plain angry, you won't be needing a barbecue when you own one of these, just barbecue your meat by holding it over the exhaust....
4- MV Agusta F3 800 RC
The best looking and best sounding triple on our list. Since Triumph no longer make the Daytona, the MV F3 series is pretty much the only option if you want a sweet sounding 3 cylinder sports bike.
3 - Yamaha R1
Want a bike that sounds just like the M1 Yamaha Moto GP machine? In 2015 Yamaha gave you your dream! One of the only inline 4 engine on this list, but the crossplane crankshaft truly makes it sound unique.
2 - Aprilia RSV4 RF
I had the pleasure of riding an RSV4 once, it is truly one of those bikes that you don't even have to ride fast to enjoy, just the sound alone makes you grin enough. However when you unleash the power you are treated to a unique Moto GPish V4 soundtrack.
1 - Ducati Panigale V4
Want a bike that sounds like the Ducati Desmosedici GP? Wait... You don't have a few million to actually buy one? No issues, the Ducati Panigale V4 is the closest sounding bike to a V4 Moto GP bike that I have heard. Best get saving though, as they start just under £20,000, worth it though for the sound alone!
