Specifications

Helmet type – Full face

Material - Organic fibre and multi-composite fibre layers

Weight – 1465g

Style – Sports/Touring

The Shoei GT Air is a great all round helmet for multiple uses. While you wouldn't see many people use one on a track day, the helmet is aimed at both sports and touring styles of riding. Neat features include a internal sun visor that flips up and down using a lever on the side of the helmet. The visor will block out 99% of UV rays and is anti-scratch and anti-fog coated.

Specifications

Helmet type – Full face

Material - PB-SNC2 R75

Weight – 1620g

Style – Sports/Track

Price - £669.99 (Plain)

The Arai RX-7V is the flagship helmet for Arai, all of the latest materials and manufacturing techniques were used to produce this latest incarnation of the RX-7 series of helmets. Although the RX-7V isn't the lightest race helmet out there, it is incredibly strong and used by many riders in Moto GP! It is made up of various multi composite layers. Multi density foam is used on the inner layer of the helmet, as different areas on the head will need different densities of foam to best protect the brain in the event of an impact.

3 - Shoei NXR

Shoei NXR

Specifications

Helmet type – Full face

Material - Organic fibre and multi-composite fibre layers

Weight – 1360g

Style – Sports

Price - £379.99 (Plain)

The Shoei NXR has been an unbelievably popular helmet over the years and it is easy to see why. It is a very simple lightweight multi composite helmet that was created with simplicity in mind. It has no unnecessary features and as a result weighs hardly anything! Despite its lack of features it still has a fully removable inner liner, which means you won't have to put up with the horrible stench that builds up over the years inside a helmet.

4 - AGV K3 SV

Specifications

Helmet type – Full face

Material - Thermoplastic resin shell

Weight – 1470g

Style – Sports

Price - £169.99 (Plain)

Ok so not everyone's budget can stretch to over £300, that is no problem! The AGV K3 SV is a great basic helmet with a lot of useful features for a very reasonable price. It has a internal sun visor which like the GT Air is controlled by a lever on the side of the helmet. This along with a fully removable interior makes the AGV K3 SV a very popular helmet for general road riding/commuting. The only downside is the shell is constructed from plastic instead of more advanced composite fibres.

5 - Schuberth C3 Pro
