Restoration completed - Finally and at great expense!
Acquired in Las Vegas in January 2019, upon first inspection this motorcycle appears totally original, with 60k on the clock this bike has clearly enjoyed considerable use, but on a BMW boxer this really isn’t an issue and whilst the engine will be fully serviced its unlikely a full rebuild will be required. The bike is a 1974/75 model and really very special as it is and will remain totally original, we do not anticipate any respray to be required. Finally the bike is ready for the showroom. This was not a great buy for MIS. Upon inspection we found that whilst it looked good it clearly hadn't had much attention for several years and has taken around 8 months to get to the condition you see today. It's by no means perfect cosmetically - it has some marks consistent with age, but it is as far as we can tell all original. We have improved the riding experience with a new (larger) master brake cylinder (that was over £300 right there ...) new brake lines and electronic ignition. Click to see YouTube video.
