Another day and another event here.  This time Adventure Bike Day 2 with great mix of even more new gear the RST Airbag range, helped by Mick Extance the Paris Dakar Rider PLUS Arai and AGV helmet servicing.

With the weather being decidedly motorcycle unfriendly with the strong wind and rain, what better time to gawp at new motorcycles making their way to showrooms this year! 

The International Exhibition of Cycle, Motorcycle and Accessories (catchy eh? better to call it EICMA) is upon us once again, and manufacturers left, right and centre are revealing their shiny new creations to the public for the first time. This is a round up of 10 of my favourite bikes that I've seen come out of EICMA so far.

If you’re new to the world of motorcycles, or simply don’t look at bikes outside your usual preference, chances are the various types of them are a bit of a minefield. With modern motorcycles, new styles have appeared and some even straddle two or more categories.

If there’s one thing that’s synonymous with bikers, it’s stereotypes. People who don’t ride bikes generally have one for us – nutters who drive at 100mph between cars, but bikers have their own ones, and we all know someone who conforms to at least one of them!

(Note, these are all made in jest…however if you take offence to any of these stereotypes, there’s a good chance you might just conform to one!)

Summer is nearly upon us, and it's approaching the best time of year to undertake a Euro tour, but where do you go? In this blog I'm going to run through what I think are some of the best motorcycling roads in Europe, or at least the Western portion anyway.

In today's post I'm going to cover the relatively recent invention of kevlar and aramid fibre jeans. Technology is continually improving and now some pairs of these jeans are indistinguishable from high street brand jeans in terms of fit and look, while still providing protection in the event of a spill.

This week I thought it was time to share my thoughts on the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion. I have owned it for six years now, starting on a 33bhp restriction for two years and then unrestricted from then on. I've ridden quite a few other bikes, but I've never got around to selling it on - it's a great all round package that will do almost anything you ask of it.

We're officially in the New Year now, and you may have some money left over from Christmas gifts, and an action camera can make a great addition to riding a motorcycle - whether that be for safety or insurance reasons in case of an accident, or purely to record your rides for posterity. You may even want to give motovlogging a go, though that will be a lot of work with the current crop of motovloggers being masters of keeping their audiences.

A few years ago there wasn't a huge range of action cameras to choose from, and the quality was distinctly average compared to full size video cameras. Nowadays that's all changed - the market's exploded and the quality you can expect from top-end models is at a level that can be seen on television and film.
